Paper – Light textured sketch pad 180gsm
Time Taken – approx 4hrs (June 2013)
This was copied from a 6″ x 4″ colour postcard.
One of my earlier landscape sketches which I really enjoyed completing.
Size – 8″ x 5″
Medium – Watercolour
Paper – Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolour paper 300gsm
Time Taken – approx 12hrs (December 2013)
This was my attempt to follow a Paul Hopkinson tutorial in The Leisure Painter magazine.
After freehand sketching the subject, colour was added using Winsor & Newton watercolour blocks and a range of fine Cotman brushes for the detail.
At the time this was the longest project I’d attempted, but once it was completed I’d discovered that I’d really enjoyed the challenge of painting in finer detail, and was especially pleased with the texture of the branches.
